This 10 Minute Pumpkin Spice Latte is your DO IT YOURSELF alternative for the ever delicious Starbucks version with less sugar and healthier ingredient
2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree. check my homemade pumpkin puree
1 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup. You can use sugar too
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, please see my pumpkin spice recipe
1/2 cup strong hot coffee. I used instant coffee Nescafe' classic
Whipped cream, for serving
- Prepare your coffee. In my case, I used instant coffee. I had 1/2 cup of hot water, and I add in about 1 teaspoon of instant Nescafe' you can use Espresso also.
- Heat the pumpkin puree' ,sweetener and the milk. In a small saucepan, add in the pumpkin puree' , sugar or maple syrup and milk of your choice. Heat it up until there are bubbles at the side of the pan. Don't boil mixture, as it will scald.
- When milk and sweetener is heated up, remove from the heat and add in vanilla extract and coffee. Mix until frothy or bubbly and divide mixture in a glass. Add in whipped cream on top and sprinkle with pumpkin spice.
