Equipment

  • 1 deep skillet
  • 1 tong
  • 1 wooden chopsticks or oil thermometer

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground turkey
  • 1/8 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp onion powder finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 large bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 head garlic this is 3-4 tablesppoon of minced garlic
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 2 cups cooking oil
  • 2 packs Menlo wrapper
  • 1 small egg I use egg to seal my lumpia

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients except oil and wrapper in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients together. Cover and let the mixture sit in the fridge overnight, for the seasoning to absorb the meat; or, you can just go ahead and wrap the Lumpia right away..
  • Place the Turkey Lumpia mixture in a large piping bag and cut the edge of the bag to half inch opening. Place the wrapper on a flat surface and pipe the mixture . Cover one edge and fold both ends. Roll tightly and seal with the egg.
  • Line the lumpia on a baking sheet and freeze. Remove frozen Lumpia from the pan and transfer to a Ziploc.

How to Cook Ground Turkey Lumpia

  • Heat the cooking oil in the deep skillet. Make sure that the heat is at 350 F. You can test the temperature by placing a wooden chopstick in the middle of the pan and if you can see bubbles around it, you are ready to fry.
  • Submerge frozen Lumpia in the hot oil. Make sure that the pan is not overcrowded. Add four to five Lumpia at a time. Deep fry the Ground Turkey Lumpia until golden brown.

How to Cook Ground Turkey Lumpia in the Instant Pot

  • Spray nonstick oil into the dehydrating tray. Place the frozen Lumpia in the dehydrating rack as shown in this post-Air Fryer Lumpia. Spray the frozen Lumpia with nonstick oil and push the air fryer button setting. Set the temperature to 390 F and set the timer to eighteen minutes. Please see the notes.
If you are cooking a non-frozen Lumpia, set the cooking time to seven- minutes.

Notes

Cooking Lumpia in the Instant Pot is not as crispy and not as golden compared to a deep-fryer, but the taste is still as delicious.
