KUTSINTA RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups tapioca flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon homemade lye substitute Homemade Lye Water Substitute
  • 2 teaspoons Annato powder
  •  

Instructions

  • Combine all of the dry ingredients in a medium size bowl.
  • Add in the wet ingredients and mix thoroughly until smooth.
  • Place mixture in an individual mold and steam for 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Remove Kutsinta from the mold using a sharp knife and roll into a shredded coconut or shredded cheese.
