Equipment

  • Oven
  • baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup Walnut chopped
  • ½ cup White Chocolate morsels

Decorations

  • Christmas Sprinkles
  • Small pretzels
  • M&Ms
  • Googly eyes

Instructions

  • Put oven rack in the middle. Preheat oven to 350 F. Generously grease the 8x8 pan and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the microwave and pour it into the mixing bowl. Add in sugar and mix until incorporated. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt with a wire whisk. slowly add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. The mixture will look stiff and crumbly, but that is okay.
  • Add in the walnut and chocolate chips and mix by hand or spatula. Transfer mixture into a 8 x 8 greased baking pan.
  • Flatten the dough and decorate with a Christmas sprinkle or make it into a Deer blondie.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, no more, or no less, and remove from the oven. The dough will be soft, but let it continue cooking in the hot pan. Slice into 2 x 2 squares.

How to Decorate to Create Deer Blondie

  • Put the batter on the baking sheet and flatten it out to an equal level.
  • Break the small pretzel into two and push it to the batter. This will be the antler.
  • Push the googly eyes and the red M&M's.
  • Do the same to the rest of the batter and the decorations. Make sure there will be a half-inch distance between the decorations for easy cutting of the blondie.
  • You can also just simply add your favorite Christmas sprinkles into the batter before baking if you want a simple decoration
