  • Rolling Pin
  • Flat Pan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2- 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Make the Flat Bread Dough

  • In a large bowl, add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder and sugar. Mix using a wire whisk.
  • Place milk in a heat safe bowl and add the olive oil. Heat for 3 minutes. Make sure the mixture will not overflow by opening the microwave every minute.
Remove mixture from the microwave oven. Use a pot holder since it's very hot.
  • Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and mix using your hand until a the mixture clump together.
  • Transfer dough in a floured surface and knead until there are no lumps.
Form into a bowl and cover the dough with a cloth and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • When ready, divide the dough into six and form into balls. Flatten the dough into 1/4 inch thick.
  • Brush cast iron or frying pan with oil and fry the dough until each side is charred - about 4 minutes each side.
