Instant Pot Onigirazu Rice

Instant Pot Onigirazu Rice. Make rice in Instant Pot and it's quicker than cooking it in the rice cooker or stovetop. Make a sandwich rice and fill it with your favorite.

Equipment

  •  Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker with Air Fryer Lid, 8 Quart. 

Ingredients

  • 1 pc carrot shredded
  • 4 oz spinach
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can low sodium Spam
  • 2 pieces cheese
  • 1 cup Jasmine or Shushi Rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  • Cook the rice. Place one cup of rice in the Instant Pot Duo Crisp plus and add 1 1/2 cup of water. Push the Pressure cooker setting and set the temperature to HI. Set timer at seven minutes.
    When the rice is ready and cooked Place ½ cup of cup cooked rice on a plate and flatten it to form a square about the size of the Spam (please see video). Set aside.
  • Prepare the veggies and egg. Heat one tablespoon of cooking oil and saute’ shredded carrots. Sprinkle with a small amount of salt until the carrots are wilted. Remove from the pan and set aside.
    In the same pan, add cooking oil and saute’ spinach. Add a small amount of soy sauce and cook until wilted. Remove from the pan and set aside
    Heat oil and cook the egg. You can make scrambled eggs or fried eggs. Your choice.
  • Slice the Spam. Place the Spam upright and slice.
    In the same pan, add cooking oil and fry them until brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside
  • Wrap the rice. Place Nori diagonally on a flat surface. Place 1/2 cup of cooked rice and shape it into a square. Make the rice shape similar to the Spam. Put the Spam on top. and top it with the egg. Add the cheese and the veggies.
    Very gently fold the Nori on all sides and wrap with cling wrap.
