Steamed Fish Cooked in Instant Pot Duo Crisp

This Steamed Fish recipe is healthy, delicious, and tested. An aromatic steamed fish sauce is added on top to give the fish a saucy flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Instant Pot Duo Crisp Plus Air Fryer 8 quart
  • steaming tray
  • Air Fryer Basket
  • Sautee' pan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Pompano

Steamed Fish Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Roasted Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Green Onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 5 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1/8 cup dark or light soy sauce

Instructions

  • Place the inner pot in the Instant Pot Base. Set the air fryer basket in place and put the steaming tray.
    Prepare the Instant Pot for Steaming
  • Put the Pompano in a foil and arrange it on the steaming tray. Make sure that you fold the foil higher than the fish, to not waste the fish juices and liquid
  • Cover with the pressure cooker lid and push the steam button setting. Set the timer to twenty minutes. Quick release when done.

Prepare the Sauce

  • Transfer the fish to a plate. Don't throw the acummulated fish juices. Now you can make the steamed fish sauce.
  • Heat the sesame oil in a pan on high heat and saute the garlic and red onion. Saute for two minutes. Add the green onion and cilantro. Add the soy sauce. Cook the aromatics until the cilantro is slightly wilted.
  • Immediately pour the sauce on top of the steamed fish. Enjoy!

Notes

You can customize the sauce in this recipe. You can add ginger, basil, or any other spices you like. You can also make the sauce extra spicy by adding Gochugaru powder while you season it.
