Ube swirl bread

Ube swirl bread is a visually stunning and deliciously sweet treat. Its soft, fluffy texture comes from enriched dough combined with the nutty, vanilla-like flavor of ube (purple yam). The bread is filled with homemade ube halaya, which gives it its eye-catching purple swirl and slightly sweet taste. Ube swirl bread has become a favorite among home bakers and dessert lovers.

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • Place the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar in the mixing bowl. Mix using a wire whisk. Attach the hook attachment and turn on low speed.
  • Heat water in the microwave or the oven until warm. Slowly add the water until the dough comes together.
  • Now, you can add the butter and mix at medium speed for eight to fourteen minutes or until the dough is smooth.
  • Remove the dough from the bowl. Spray the bowl with nonstick oil. Form the dough into a ball and put it back into the bowl. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for one hour.
  • Punch the risen dough to release air.
  • Flatten the dough into a rectangle half an inch thick. Fill the dough with ube halaya. Fold the dough on both ends and cut them into strips, as shown in the video.
  • Roll both ends to form a round dough and seal on both sides. Put the dough in the prepared pan. Loosely cover the dough with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for another thirty minutes.
  • Put the oven rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray the cupcake pan with nonstick oil.
  • Bake the dough in a preheated oven for 8 to 12 minutes. Let the Ube Swirl bread cool down.
