Instant Pot Carne Asada

Equipment

  • Instant Pot Duo Plus Air Fryer 8 Quart

Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs Chuck Pot Roast the thickness of this Chuck roast is 1 1/2 inches.
  • 1/4 cup canola oil for frying

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Mix the marinade ingredients and remove one-third cup of the mixture. Set it aside in the fridge.
  • Place the chuck roast into the glass or plastic bowl. Pour the leftover marinade and cover. Let the meat marinate overnight.
  • When ready, drain the fluid and pat dry the meat using a paper towel.

Cook the Meat in the Instant Pot

  • Place the inner pot in the IP base. Push the saute button setting and set the timer to thirty minutes. Wait for three minutes and add the oil.
  • Brown the meat on all sides-five minutes on each side.
  • Add in the marinade that was set aside. Cancel the sauté function.Cover the inner pot with the pressure cooker lid. Push the pressure cooker function. Set the pressure to HI. Set the timer to eighteen minutes. Push start. Quick release when done.

Notes

This is a one and half thick chuck roast. Add more cooking time if you want the meat to be extra tender.
