Ube Turon
Ube Turon is a twist on the traditional Filipino Turon Recipe. Ube flavoring was added to get that purple Ube hue and nutty ube flavor.
Servings: 8 people
- 1 cup Homemade Ube Halaya
- 2 pieces Banana Saba
- 10 pieces Menlo wrapper
Put the Menlo wrapper on the flat surface. Place it diagonally, as shown above.
Peel bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Place the banana in the middle of the lumpia wrapper. Put the Ube halaya as shown above. Fold both sides of the wrapper (left and right).;
Roll and brush the edge with egg and seal. Do the same to the rest of the ingredients.
Fry
Add one-half cup of cooking oil to the cooking pan. Increase the oil temperature to 350 F.
Fry the Ube Turon until golden brown on each side.

- Use raw Saba bananas if you have them. In this recipe, I used steam-frozen ones. I have it thawed and sliced vertically into four.
