Equipment

  • 1 electric stand mixer

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup All purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 large Egg
  • 50 grams water
  • 60 grams Milk
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter Room temperature

Tangzhong

  • 2 tbsp All purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Water

Tuna Corn Salad

  • 1 can Tuna
  • 1/4 Cup Corn
  • 1/4 cup Mayo

Instructions

Make Tangzhong

  • Place the flour and cold water into a saucepan. Mix until the flour is completely dissolved. Turn heat to low and continuously stir until paste is form. Transfer the mixture to a container and let the mixture cool down. You can prepare this ahead of time to save time. Set Aside.

Make the dough

  • Place the milk and water in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Add the yeast and mix until well combined. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes or until the yeast blooms.
  • Place the flour,sugar, and salt In the electric mixing bowl . Mix using a wire whisk to combine.
  • Add the egg, prepared dry yeast mixture and the Tangzhong. Mix for 8 to ten minutes on medium speed. Occasionally scrape the sides of the bowl to combine the dough.
  • Add the room temperature butter. Continue mixing until the dough is pliable. You can do the window test by pulling a small amount of the dough and spreading it . If the dough is transparent, it’s ready. This usually happens after mixing the dough from12 to 14 minutes.
  • When ready form the dough into a ball. Spray your bowl with non stick spray and put the dough back into the bowl. Cover with a cloth or plastic and let the dough sit in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Transfer to dough to a flour dusted surface and divide the dough into 12 pieces. And form into a ball
  • Make a dent at the middle by pressing it with your thumb or by using a cup. Top it with the Corn Tuna Salad. Brush sides with egg. Add sugar or condensed milk on top.

Bake

  • Preheat the ven to 350 F. Place the bread and bake for 13 to 15 minutes.
