Whether you use a Homemade or Store bought pizza is up to you. In my case, I have a lot of leftover flatbread and chicken in my fridge, so I used that. Here is I made my pizza. You can also use this Alfredo Sauce Pizza. Just add the avocado later.
Ingredients
- Rotisserie Chicken
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Barbecue Sauce
- Flat Bread Pizza
Procedure
Place the flatbread pizza on a flat surface and spread the barbecue sauce.
Top with the cheese. Add more cheese if you want.
Top it with the chicken.
Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and freeze.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to air-fry frozen pizza:
- Prepare the Air Fryer: Line the air fryer basket with the Air Fryer liner.
- Prepare the pizza: Remove the frozen pizza from its packaging and remove any plastic wrap or cardboard. You add extra cheese, vegetables, or meats. And use your favorite sauce. In this case, I had a frozen chicken alfredo pizza. And I opted to use it.
- Place the pizza in the air fryer: Carefully place the frozen pizza directly on the air fryer basket or tray. Make sure the pizza is not overlapping or touching the sides of the air fryer for even cooking.
- Cook the pizza: Close the air fryer and set the timer for about 10-15 minutes. The cooking time depends on the thickness of the pizza, so keep an eye on it as it cooks. Checking the pizza halfway through and rotating it for even browning is a good idea.
- Check for doneness: After the recommended cooking time, open the air fryer and check if the pizza is cooked to your liking. The crust should be golden brown, and the cheese should be melted and bubbly. Add two or more minutes of cooking time if the pizza needs more.
- Serve and enjoy: Once the pizza is cooked to your satisfaction, carefully remove it from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula. Let it cool for a minute or two before slicing it into pieces. Serve hot, and enjoy your air-fried frozen pizza!
Tips on How to Cook Frozen Pizza in the Air Fryer
Cooking times and temperatures can vary, so adjusting accordingly is essential based on your air fryer’s settings.
- Choose the proper pizza.
Look for frozen pizzas labeled explicitly as suitable for air frying. These pizzas are typically designed to have a thinner crust and cook well in an air fryer. Thicker crust pizzas may require adjustments to cooking time and temperature.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer.
It’s important to leave enough space around the pizza for proper air circulation. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and a less crispy crust. If you’re cooking multiple pizzas, consider doing them in batches.
- Adjust cooking time and temperature.
While the suggested cooking time and temperature mentioned earlier are good starting points, every air fryer differs. You may need to adjust the time and temperature based on your specific model. Keep an eye on the pizza as it cooks d adjust as needed.
- Use parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Placing the air fryer liner on the basket or tray can help prevent the pizza from sticking. It also makes it easier to remove the pizza once it’s done.
- Add toppings at the right time.
If you add extra toppings to your frozen pizza, consider adding them halfway through the cooking process. This will prevent the toppings from burning or becoming overcooked.
- Experiment with cooking techniques
Depending on your preference, you can flip the pizza halfway through cooking for even browning on both sides. You can also try elevating the pizza by placing it on a rack or using a pizza pan to allow air circulation under the crust.
