Step-by-Step Instructions
Cooking this meal is fast and easy. Although you can cook it on the stovetop, the beef cut will take a bit more time to cook, so I opted to use my Instant Pot, as I often do. If you want to cook this meal on the stovetop, just add extra time for the beef to cook.
- Prepare the Instant Pot: Place the inner pot in the Instant Pot base. Push the sauté button. Set the timer to thirty minutes. Add the oil. Wait for two minutes and brown the beef until it changes color.
- Brown the Beef—When the beef is brown, cancel the sauté button setting. Add the beef broth. Cover the Instant Pot with the pressure cooker lid. Push the pressure cooker button setting. Set the pressure to Hi. Set the timer to 8 minutes. Quickly release when done.
- Add the Snow Peas, Bell Pepper, and Onions- Once all pressure is released, push the sauté button again. Set the timer to thirty minutes. Add the pepper, onion, and green peas. Season with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and pepper. Add salt if needed. Continue cooking for three more minutes. Add the water and cornstarch mixture. Cook for three more minutes or until the sauce is thick. If you think the sauce is insufficient, add a small amount of water. Cancel the sauté button and serve immediately.
Pro Tips for the Best beef with snow peas and bell pepper
- Choose the Right Cut: Flank steak or sirloin works best for a tender, juicy result.
- Slice Thinly: Cutting the beef against the grain ensures it stays tender when cooked.
- High Heat is Key: Stir-frying over high heat keeps the beef juicy and the snow peas crisp.
