In this sweet potato pie, I used evaporated milk as liquid base because it just yields a creamy filling. Instead of boiling the sweet potato, this recipe requires you to bake the sweet potatoes. You may take it’s a long process to do so, but the extra time will make the filling less watery, so I highly recommend that you do it.

Easy Sweet Potato Pie Recipe
- 1 lb sweet potato
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons cloves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 piece 9 inch frozen pie crust thawed
- Poke sweet potato with fork and wrap with foil.
- Bake in a preheated 350 F oven for an hour, or until it is soft. Check tenderness with fork. When the fork slides into the potato easily, it is ready.
- Peel the cooked baked potatoes put in a large bowl. Using a masher, mash potato until very fine.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until ingredients are well incorporated.
