Patty Ingredients
These ingredients come together to create a flavorful and satisfying burger steak dish. The beef patties are coated with panko bread crumbs, fried to a crispy golden brown, and served with a savory sauce from the other ingredients, resulting in a delicious and comforting meal. Certainly! Here’s a description of each of the components of a burger steak recipe:
- Beef: Beef is the primary protein for your burger steak. It’s typically ground beef, which is formed into burger patties.
- Panko Bread Crumbs: Panko bread crumbs are a type of Japanese bread crumb that is light and airy. They often coat the beef patties when fried, giving them a crispy and crunchy texture.
- Evaporated Milk: Evaporated milk is a thick, concentrated form that adds creaminess and a slightly sweet flavor to the sauce or mixture used in the recipe.
- Egg: Eggs are used as a binding agent. They help hold the beef patties together and add moisture, making them tender and juicy.
- Soy and Worcestershire Sauce: These savory condiments add depth of flavor to the dish. Soy sauce provides a salty umami taste, while Worcestershire sauce contributes a tangy and slightly sweet note.
For the Mushroom Gravy
(apologies, but the mushroom was not pictured above)
- Unsalted Butter: Butter is used for cooking beef patties. It adds a rich, buttery flavor and helps achieve a nice sear on the patties.
- All-Purpose Flour: Flour is typically used for making a roux, a thickening agent for the sauce. It helps create a smooth, creamy texture.
- Onion and Garlic Powder: These powdered seasonings add a subtle, savory flavor to the sauce and are more convenient than fresh onions and garlic.
- Pepper and Salt: I used them to enhance the dish’s overall taste. They add a balanced level of saltiness and a hint of spiciness.
- Bouillon Powder: Bouillon powder is a concentrated flavoring made from dehydrated vegetables and seasonings. It contributes depth and richness to the sauce or gravy.
- Water- I did have beef stock at home, so I used water to dilute the gravy. I used powdered beef bouillon was added to get that beef gravy flavor. Adjust the sauce or gravy’s consistency to create a flavorful mixture with bouillon powder and other seasonings.

- Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and become tender, which takes about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Once the mushrooms are cooked, sprinkle the flour over them and stir continuously to form a roux. Cook the roux for a few minutes until it turns a light, golden color. This helps eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Add the water and keep stirring. To avoid lumps. Continue to go until the mixture thickens. Season the gravy with garlic powder, Salt, and pepper to taste.
