My daughter was a choir member and every end of the school year, the have a fund drive wherein guests reserve a table for $20.00 and you’ll be serve with good food. This meatball was one of them.
The teacher actually share the recipe to the volunteer parents to make a batch. There were about 20 parents who volunteered and I was one of them, so I got this recipe.
I don’t know where she got this recipe, but I love it so much that I am sharing this with you.
This recipe will be prefect for any large occasion you: church potluck, picnic, birthday party, or even weddings.
This will surely save you money by making your own menu instead of buying.
How to Make a Large Batch Barbecued Meatballs
- Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl- Place the meatballs into two 13 x 9 aluminum pans that have been sprayed with Pam or lightly greased. It should make 24 meatballs so put 12 in each pan. Bake at pre heated oven at 350 F for 45 minutes.
- Make the sauce – Make a sauce from the ingredients and spoon some sauce over each meatball. Freeze left over sauce for next use.
Easy to Find Meatball Ingredients
- Hamburger meat – you can get this for less in a butcher shop but you can also
- find ground beef in your grocery stores. Keep an eye for discounts.
- Evaporated milk – this will serve as an extender and make the meatballs juicy.
- Quaker minute oatmeal not old fashioned – I love this ingredient addition. It add texture to the meatballs
- Eggs – bind the meatball together
- Chopped onion – you can use red or yellow onion.
- Garlic powder – this is always available in your grocery store. In Walmart, it’s only 98 cents.
- Salt, pepper , chili powder to taste.

Ingredients
Meatball Ingredients:
- 3 lbs. lean hamburger meat
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 2 cups Quaker minute oatmeal not old fashioned
- 2 well beaten eggs
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
For the Sauce:
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
Instructions
Mix the meatballs and shape into balls (a scoop works well):
- Place the meatballs into two 13 x 9 aluminum pans that have been sprayed with Pam or lightly greased. It should make 24 meatballs so put 12 in each pan. Bake at pre heated oven at 350 F for 45 minutes.
