I got this recipe from the YT channel Savor Easy and our family loves this cake so much,that I made it so many times already. My husband brings it to work and I my son always request it all the time. And as a cook at home, I love this recipe because it i very easy and chances are, the ingredients are already there in your pantry.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS FOR STEAMED CONDENSE MILK CAKE ?
- 3 eggs (separated)
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
PROCEDURE TO MAKE THIS CAKE:
- Line 8 inch round baking pan with parchment paper. Don’t grease.
- Add 20 cups of water into the steamer and let the water boil while preparing the cake batter.
- Place 3 egg yolks and condense milk in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Add in vanilla extract and softened butter and mix until smooth.
- Add all purpose flour, cornstarch and baking powder and salt. Mix until smooth and mixtures are well combined.Set aside.
- Using a hand mixer, mix egg whites until frothy and medium still.
- Add in half of the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites and fold in mixture until not egg white strips are present.
- Add in this mixture to the remaining egg yolk mixture and fold again until no egg whites traces present.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pan and cover with tin foil and steam in a boiled water for an hour, or until toothpick comes out clean.
