How to Cook Egg in the Instant Pot. Step-by-step instructions and detailed time duration on how to cook “boiled egg” using my Instant Pot Duo Crisp Plus Air Fryer.

Equipment

I want to emphasize each instant pot is different, and some settings may not be on the instant pot you got. In my case, I am using Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker with Air Fryer Lid, 8 Quart. This Instant pot doesn’t have the rice setting, so I am using the pressure cooker setting.

How to Cook Perfect Egg in the Instant Pot

Place the inner pot in the Instant Pot base and place the steam rack in the middle.
Pour in two cups of water and place the egg on the steam rack.
Cover the Instant Pot with the pressure cooker lid.

Soft Egg

Push the pressure cooker button and push the button twice to it to LO.
Set the timer to 4 minutes. Note that the Instant pot will build pressure and you will hear a beep that the four-minute duration has started. When it’s done, there will be another beep. Push the release button and pressure will be released. The floating button will go down and you can open the pressure cooker lid.
Transfer the egg to the ice batch and set your phone timer for four minutes.

Mild Soft

Push the pressure cooker button and push the button twice to it to LO.
Set the Instant Pot time to 4 minutes. Note that the Instant pot will build pressure and you will hear a beep that the four-minute duration has started. When it’s done, there will be another beep.
Now set your phone timer to four minutes. When the timer is up, Push the release button and pressure will be released. The floating button will go down and you can open the pressure cooker lid.

Transfer the egg to the ice batch and set your phone timer for four minutes.

Hard Egg

Push the pressure cooker button and push the button twice to it to LO

Set the Instant Pot time to 6 minutes. Note that the Instant pot will build pressure and you will hear a beep that the six-minute duration has started. When it’s done, there will be another beep.
Now set your phone timer to three minutes. When the timer is up, Push the release button and pressure will be released. The floating button will go down and you can open the pressure cooker lid.
Transfer the egg to the ice batch and set your phone timer for three minutes.
