What does Japanese coffee jelly taste like
Japanese coffee jelly is made from mild coffee and a small amount of sugar. It has a soft, smooth, gelatinous texture, similar to other jellies or desserts.
Is coffee jelly healthy?
Coffee jelly can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet, but like any dessert, its health depends on the ingredients and portion size. Here are some considerations:
- Calories and sugar: Coffee jelly may contain added sugar, contributing to its calorie content. Using less sugar or opting for natural sweeteners can make it healthier.
- Coffee benefits: It contains coffee, which provides antioxidants and a mild stimulant effect from caffeine.
- Gelatin: Gelatin is generally low in calories and can provide some protein, although it’s not a significant source.
How long does coffee jelly last in the fridge?
Coffee jelly can typically last for about three days in the fridge. If you store it longer, the jelly breaks into small pieces.
Cover it well to prevent it from absorbing other odors from the fridge.
How to store coffee jelly
- Refrigeration: Store coffee jelly in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the jelly to prevent it from drying out or absorbing other flavors.
- Freezing: I tried freezing it, but I don’t recommend it. The jelly became watery, ruining its smooth texture. So make just enough for everybody.
